The Thraz Streamer was a flume of faster-than-light tachyons discovered by Andorian Captain Thraz in 2201. The streamer originated from a pulsar and extended to the edge of the Milky Way galaxy. A research base, dubbed Thraz Outpost, was established to study the streamer and to develop practical use for it.

In 2267, the USS Enterprise discovered a space-borne lifeform which was apparently native to the Thraz Streamer. (TOS - Constellations short story: "Ambition")
