Biography[]
The legacy of Thy'kir's great-grandfather Thy'lek Shran turned out to be a lasting influence on his life. Thy'kir felt that already during his earliest days at Starfleet Academy, when he was one of the few Andorian cadets. He found it gratifying when he toured the USS Shran, the ship named for his 22nd century ancestor. (STO - Age of Discovery short story: "The Will to Fight")
At one point, Thy'kir served alongside Anton Schaefer aboard the Endeavour. Shran found Schaefer to be a fine officer. (STO - Age of Discovery mission: "Trial by Fire")
By 2256, Thy'kir Shran had attained command of his own starship, the USS Sebrova. He kept a gold-plated replica of the IGS Kumari on a shelf in his ready room. The Sebrova was refitted from exploratory to war duties after the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-2257. During a mission to recover the USS Ticonderoga, Shran had the ship's course altered when the Sebrova received a distress call from an Academy ship.
