For the mirror universe counterpart, see Tiburon (planet) (mirror).

Tiburon is a Federation Member State and homeworld of the Tiburons. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation; TOS episode: "The Way to Eden")

In 2285, some civil unrest erupted over the exploitation of a recent dilithium discovery. A Tellarite mining corporation caused several of the local politicians to disappear, only to be replaced with those friendly to offworld trade with this corporation. Federation officials had been unsuccessful in prosecuting those involved as of late 2286. (FASA RPG: Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update.)

In the Dominion War Tiburon was attacked by Jem'Hadar vessels. Elias Vaughn was there and witnessed the brilliant explosions as the ships exploded. (DS9 novel: Avatar)
