The Tilar Peninsula was the location for Starfleet's base of operations on Bajor in the parasite crisis in September of 2376.
Starfleet set up its camp on the peninsula near the ruins of what had been the Karnoth resettlement camp in the Cardassian occupation. The location provided Starfleet the best transmission quality in all of Hedrikspool Province. The remote site also allowed the large operation to go somewhat unnoticed.
Starfleet had additional smaller camps in Hill, Rakantha and Musilla provinces. (DS9 novel: Unity)
