Tiral was a male Klingon in the 24th century. His parents were killed in the attack on Narendra III in 2344, and he was raised by his nursemaid, Grul.

In 2372, he was appointed the Klingon military governor of taD, shortly after its re-conquest by the Klingon Empire. Tiral succeeded Kalax, who took his own life following the dishonor he suffered due to the al'Hmatti's coup d'état.

In early 2376, as the situation on taD became untenable, Tiral was reassigned as a supervisor of the weapons development facility on planet HuDyuQ. (TNG novel: Diplomatic Implausibility)
