Tokk (also known as Vaas) was a 24th century Bolian man. He served in Starfleet as a Commandant of Starfleet Academy in the early 2370s.
History[]
As commandant in 2371, Rear Admiral Tokk conceived and instituted the prestigious but controversial flight teams Red Squad and Nova Squadron at Starfleet Academy, with the intention of developing an elite corps of officers. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom)
- Red Squad's founding date was established in TNG novel: The Best and the Brightest.
In 2372, at the request of Admiral James Leyton, Tokk joined Leyton's Starfleet conspiracy to take over Earth. Tokk let Leyton secretly deploy the entire Red Squad corps to sabotage Earth's power distribution center in Lisbon, heightening Dominion tensions enough for Federation President Jaresh-Inyo to declare martial law. Tokk's involvement was exposed by Captain Benjamin Sisko and Constable Odo. (DS9 episode: "Paradise Lost")
Tokk's tenure ended in the wake of the conspiracy. An unnamed silver-haired man assumed the role of commandant later in 2372. (DS9 - Mission: Gamma novel: Lesser Evil)
