A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! See Markham for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Tom Markham was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet as an engineer aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

History[]

In 2267, Markham and Becky Randall were married by Kirk on the recreation deck. That evening, however, Faron and Nadira manipulated the crew telepathically into a gender war, inciting hatred between the couple and driving them to opposing sides. Faron compelled Markham to implement a saucer separation. After the conflict ended, Markham and Randall embraced. (TOS - Star Trek: The Manga - Shinsei Shinsei comic: "'Til Death")

In 2270, Markham answered when security called engineering to learn whether a person could crawl through a particular ventilation shaft. He concluded that not even a contortionist could maneuver through it. He was unaware that security was tracking a Pandronian, who could disassemble his humanoid body into many independent parts to get through such a space. (TAS - Log Nine novelization: Bem)

Tom Markham in the manga and Markham in the novelization were unrelated, but had the same ranks and uniform. They are assumed to be the same person in the absence of conflicting information for purposes of this wiki.
