Tonzak was a young, muscular Orion male who bore several scars and piercings from his demanding life as an underling within the Orion Syndicate.
In 2268, Tonzak was in the employment of Ganz as head of security aboard his ship, the Omari-Ekon. He had proven himself valuable to Ganz on several occasions, so much so that Ganz ordered him to discretely kill the disgraced Starfleet officer, Diego Reyes, who had sought asylum aboard the Orion ship.
