"Too Long a Sacrifice, Issue 1" is the first issue of IDW Publishing's DS9 2020 comic miniseries, Too Long a Sacrifice.

Description[]

Death casts its shadow as Constable Odo searches for truth amid a web of treachery and lies. Everyone on the Promenade has a motive for this murder, be it vengeance, justice… or old-fashioned greed. Legendary Star Trek scribes Scott Tipton and David Tipton team with noir artist Greg Scott for the first Deep Space Nine comic book series in a decade!

Summary[]

Bashir has been waiting on the Promenade for Garak, who is late for their lunch together. Instead of the Replimat, they eat at a restaurant operated by Lavin Meryn. During the lunch, Garak asks Bashir for his thoughts on the war. Bashir admits the situation is very serious. Just then, a massive explosion rips through the restaurant. Bashir and Garak survive by being shielded by a bulkhead, but eight people are killed, some by darts used as shrapnel by the perpetrators.

Odo promptly begins an investigation and soon has a suspect when Lavyn accuses Quark. Bashir learns that rodinium darts were used in the bomb. Worf suspects Nausicaan visitors to the station. O'Brien finds more rodinium darts in a shipment for Quark, and Odo brings him in for questioning.
