The Toofa was a Pakled trading vessel with a crew of ten.

Gowron likened it to an ugly Ferengi freighter. (TNG novel: Klingon)

Service history and disposition[]

Around the year 2370, the ship transported weapons between Soltaris and Balka system.

Sixteen hours after leaving Balka, Gowron visied the planet seeking information about a Romulan assassin probe; he had to torture the bartender Meska to admit that shipments of weapons came to that planet all the time, and gave the ship's name.

Just three hours later, Gowron's IKS Tagana overtook the Toofa, just when it happened to suffer from a coolant leak, and had to slow down. The Tagana then dropped out of warp and used the tractor beam, causing their captain to hail them.

Gowron captured this vessel to learn who killed Torghn, son of Kmpok, and then let the ship go. (TNG novel: Klingon)
