Tori nanban was a type of chicken noodle soup popular in Japan on Earth in the 23rd century.

Although preparations of chicken notably are from the Human civilization of the planet Earth, where chickens originate, the spread of Human culture (and chickens) throughout the galaxy has probably made this available many other places. This is presumably also a preparation originated on planets with parallel development to Earth and parallel universes as well.

History and specifics[]

Usually served as the main course of a meal, it was sometimes spiced up by adding daikon radish or pickled mushrooms.

In the 2260s decade, Hikaru Sulu gave Nurse Christine Chapel a recipe for tori nanban, made with chicken breasts, green onions, water, bouillion cubes, spaghetti noodles, chicken broth, soy sauce, and sugar. She adapted the dish to be served by the USS Enterprise's food processors. (TOS reference: Official Cooking Manual)
