Torros III (also sometimes known as Taurus III) is the third planet of the Torros system and is located in the Cardassian Union. In 2373, Torros III was home to a joint Cardassian-Dominion shipyards.

Following the outbreak of the Dominion War, a large Federation-Klingon task force entered Cardassian space and destroyed the shipyards in the Battle of Torros III, while Dominion forces were occupied at the Second Battle of Deep Space 9. Although the shipyards were destroyed, Deep Space 9 was lost to the Dominion in the process. (DS9 episode: "Call to Arms")

The USS Centaur and the USS Majestic were two of the ships involved in the attack on Torros' shipyards. (DS9 novelization: Call to Arms...)

After the war, the planet was ceded to the Federation. In 2380, its inhabitants talked to President of the Federation President Nanietta Bacco about concerns they had. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)

Background[]

  • Torros was spelled as "Taurus" in Articles of the Federation. However, Keith R.A. DeCandido's annotations confirm it refers to the planet from "Call to Arms".
