Tortuga (also known as Varrina) was a star system, located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.
History and specifics[]
It was located within the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone just beyond the outskirts of The Triangle in a mixed, but predominantly Orion, system. A large number of armed Orion merchant vessels operated within the system, and first planet Tortuga I was a lawless free port and haven for slavery. (FASA RPG module: Decision at Midnight)
The Tortuga system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including sixth planet Tortuga VI. (TOS comic: "The Flight of the Buccaneer")
In 2273, the system was declared a member of the Asparax Confederation. (FASA RPG module: Decision at Midnight)
