Trakad was a Cardassian man. He was an officer of the Cardassian Guard. Dukat considered him slow-witted and not of the same calibre as Corat Damar.

In 2360, Gil Trakad reported to Skrain Dukat that mining equipment had been delivered to Terok Nor, but was nervous to tell Dukat that it had been delivered by a Ferengi crew. (TNR novel: Dawn of the Eagles)

In 2363, the now Glinn Trakad reported that a sensor tower had been accessed in what Trakad thought was a sabotage attempt. Trakad also reported that three flyers left Bajor, although investigations indicated that the sabotage was designed to give false sensor readings of ships in Bajor’s skies. (TNR novel: Dawn of the Eagles)

Trakad was promoted to dalin after learning that Gaten Russol sent an encrypted message to the Federation. (TNR novel: Dawn of the Eagles)

In 2369, at the end of the Occupation, Dukat ordered Dalin Trakad to move the Bajoran workers on Terok Nor off the station to Bajor before they rioted and to start the evacuation of Cardassian troops. (TNR novel: Dawn of the Eagles)
