Trakor was a Bajoran male who wrote several prophecies, including some referring to the Emissary of the Prophets. He lived approximately three thousand years ago.

Trakor's first prophecy predicted that the person to find the Celestial Temple would be the Emissary of the Prophets. (DS9 novel: Fearful Symmetry)

Trakor often used the Orb of Prophecy and Change and saw visions of the future in his orb experiences. In his third prophecy, Trakor referred to the destruction of the Celestial Temple occurring after a river had returned to Janir and three vipers had attempted to "peer through the temple gates". (DS9 episode: "Destiny")

Trakor's fourth prophecy referred to the Emissary facing a fiery trial. (DS9 episode: "Destiny")

In 2371, Yarka warned the crew of Deep Space 9 that he believed Trakor's third prophecy was coming true. Yarka believed the "vipers" were three Cardassian scientists, although it was later discovered it was three comet fragments whose silithium could have destroyed the wormhole had Benjamin Sisko and Kira Nerys not shielded them using a shuttlecraft while they travelled through. (DS9 episode: "Destiny")

In 2376, Lenaris Holem scanned his memory of Trakor's prophecies to see if Trakor had predicted the destruction of Sidau. (DS9 novel: Bajor: Fragments and Omens)

Several weeks later, Iliana Ghemor planned to fulfill Trakor's first prophecy and become Emissary in the mirror universe. (DS9 novel: Fearful Symmetry)
