Tranar was a male Cardassian officer who held the title of Gul during his service within the forces assigned to Bajor during the final stages of the Occupation. While acting as the eventual praetor for the Singha labor camp, Tranar was involved with the callous appropriation of Bajoran relics and national treasures, then later attempted to smuggle a number of these ill-gotten spoils from the planet after the Detapa Council ordered the Cardassian Guard to withdraw, though he was captured before he could escape and held as a prisoner of the Bajoran Provisional Government, despite objections from the Cardassian delegation.
