Federation travel pods were in service in the 23rd century.

In the year 2380, Radovan Tavus commandeered a Bajoran travel pod when he kidnapped Rebecca Sisko. (DS9 novel: Original Sin)

In the year 2386, a Pakled travel pod landed in Mericor Anchorage. (DS9 novel: The Long Mirage)
