Kirk, Spock and Doctor McCoy encounter the Tree of Life on Stardate 8583.7.

A tree is a type of perennial woody plant, with secondary branches on a single main trunk, supported clear of the ground. Numerous varieties of trees are native to Earth and many other class M planets.

History and specifics[]

In late 2265, Joanna McCoy broke her leg after crashing into a tree during a skiing trip to Wyoming. A boy she was horsing around with, similarly broke his arm after crashing into the neighboring tree. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Enterprise)
