Tremayne was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet as a security guard aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.
Biography
During first contact with the apparently non-corporeal Zond, Kirk beam a security squad to the planet Vartax. Leaving crewman Tremayne with the leader of the Zond to guard a cavern entrance, Kirk, Hikaru Sulu and the others explored underground tunnels. They were led to believe that Varticans were threatening, but when discovered, they seemed terrified. Sulu returned to the cave entrance to retrieve their universal translator, only to find Tremayne mysteriously dead and the Zond missing.
The Zond had misled the crew. After killing Tremayne, they marooned the ship's crew on Vartax. (TOS comic: "Spectre of the Zond")
