Kanshent Shelav (also known as Trenkanshent sh'Lavan) was an Andorian shen, who served in the Andorian Imperial Guard, and later in the Federation Starfleet in the 22nd century.

Biography[]

By 2163, she held the rank of captain in the Federation Starfleet, and commanded the cruiser Thejal.

In March of 2163, Shelav and the Thejal was assigned to Commodore Nisverin th'Menchal's task force, to defend against "Mute" attacks.

On 20 March, she hosted her cousin, Aranthanien ch'Revash, on the Thejal. During their dinner, they shared a conversation about Captain T'Pol and the Vulcans. Shelav belived, that certain Vulcans, including T'Pol, should be brought to justice for their actions during the Vulcan-Andorian confilcts.

Six days later, the Thejal engaged a "Mute" ship but sustained damage in the battle. The "Mutes" escaped as the Thejal had to effect repairs. Dular Garos of the Malurian vessel Rivgor hailed the Andorian ship, offering assistance but Shelav assured him they were able to manage. However, the two of them did concoct a plan to ambush a "Mute" ship at a nearby rogue ice giant planet.

On 28 March, a Mute ship approached the the ice giant but did not retaliate when the Thejal fired warning shots followed by a direct hit which weakened their shields. When the Mutes started to retreat, the hidden Rivgor ascended from the cloud layer of the planet and attacked them. The Mute ship returned fire on both ships, again taking out Thejal's forward shields, but was eventually disabled. Shelav ordered a ceasefire but the Rivgor continued to fire upon the Mute ship and destroyed it. When Shelav confronted Garos demanding an explanation of what happened, he had the Rivgor's weapons mimic the Mute's weapons signature and destroyed the Thejal. All hands were lost, including Shelav.
