Tribble of Borg

Tribbles of Borg.

Tribble of Borg was a non-sentient animal lifeform, a breed of Tribbles that were cybernetically enhanced with Borg technology due to assimilation. (STO - Common Ground mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", C-Store item)

Specifications[]

The Tribble of Borg was connected to the Borg Collective but not part of it. The enhancements included cabling connecting an ocular laser to the furry body. A red laser was attached to the ocular implant.

When petted by an Allied officer, a Tribble of Borg provided a temporary buff to the officer's health. Specifically, it would have the effect of slightly stimulating the body's natural ability to resist all types of damage, by a degree measured at +1.5. Additionally, this Tribble had been wired into the Collective and would grant insight into their vulnerabilities, granting a 3% damage bonus to Borg combatants. Both buffs would last for 3.600 seconds and could be refreshed by petting the tribble again.

Only one Tribble of Borg was permitted to a starship crew at any given time. Because of that, a Tribble of Borg had the comparative item value of "very rare", or purple rarity.

When petted, the Tribble of Borg made noises, like purring, a Hivemind voice recording stating "Enter access code 47", or a whirring sound when connecting to a virtual network.

Unlike other species of tribbles, the Tribble of Borg could not be produced through tribble breeding. (STO - Common Ground mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", C-Store item)

History[]

The Collective first encountered, and assimilated, tribbles when Three of Three's Borg cube recovered three hundred tribbles from a spatially displaced escape pod of the IKS Gr'oth. The drones recovered a part of their individuality due to the exposure to tribbles, before the hive mind destroyed the cube. (TOS - Strange New Worlds V short story: "The Trouble with Borg Tribbles")

Following the return of the Borg Collective to local space in February 2410, Starfleet and the Klingon Defense Force came across the Tribble of Borg - assimilated by the Borg and connected to them, yet not enslaved by the Hive. Like other tribble breeds employed in the fleets, the Tribble of Borg was beneficiary to officers who gained one. (STO - Common Ground mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
