Trichemizone was a type of drug used in medicine to render certain types of lifeforms, including mammalian humanoids, into unconsciousness.
History and specifics[]
It was a sedative that affected short-term memory.
In the year 2268, Spock applied a Vulcan neck pinch to Ensign John Brunowski, then recommended that he be injected with trichemizone and remain sedated for the next two days. Captain James T. Kirk recommended similar treatment for Dan Miller, Brunowski's accomplice in fashioning a secret cubbyhole in the lower decks of the ship. Publicly, McCoy claimed that the two had fallen victim to a virus. The two ensigns had to remain unaware of Spock's activities in the cubbyhole during that time, necessary steps toward saving the ship from the control of a fanatic telepath. (TOS novel: Ghost-Walker)
