Tricillin PDF is a drug, the only known treatment for the genetically engineered Double Helix virus, a disease that affected humanoids of mixed-species heritage.

History and specifics[]

Tricillin could extend survival for up to a week.

In 2364, the USS Enterprise-D aided researchers on Archaria III during a Double Helix outbreak, bringing several weeks' worth of supplies of the medicine. Unfortunately the plague infected members of the ship's crew. When Deanna Troi contracted the disease, Beverly Crusher gave her a shot of tricillin as well as a sedative to help her rest. (TNG - Double Helix novel: Infection)

It was subsequently used as an inoculant, along with a wide-spectrum antiviral compound, for those providing assistance on other planets where outbreaks occurred. (TNG - Double Helix novel: Quarantine)
