A trilobite was an advanced lifeform, an animal creature with a minimum intellect rated as 1+. Trilobites evolved on planets that were at least 4 billion years old. (Decipher RPG module: Worlds)

History and specifics[]

In the 2250s decade, USS Enterprise science officers Lieutenant Spock and Evan Connolly compared the non-humanoid Rengru to arthropoidal species, like the Japanese spider crab. Connolly placed the Rengru somewhere between trilobites and crustaceans. (DSC novel: The Enterprise War)

In Federation science, trilobites were known to coexist with less intelligent lifeforms, like insects, molluscs and ferns. The natural habitat were class M planets. (Decipher RPG module: Worlds)

Trilobites were flat and round. Their body was covered in a layered, protective shell. In the 2370s, the Swarm used trilobitelike starships. (Shipyards reference: Shipyards: Delta Quadrant)
