Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

trinae is the Tezwan word for "high mountain people" and is one of the two races of Tezwans. Characterized by larger, stronger bodies than elininae, trinae are commonly considered to also be smarter. This reputation helped Bilok rise quickly in the government. The trinae controlled the Gatni Party in the Tezwan Assembly.

Since ancient times, tribal tensions had existed between the trinae and elininae. Slowly, the xenophobia had waned, but the election of Prime Minister Kinchawn had seen a spike in hostilities. The exile of Kinchawn and his guerrilla attacks saw a renewed assault of the elininae against trinae-dominated settlements.

(TNG novels: A Time to Kill, A Time to Heal)

Note that "trinae" is plural and not capitalized. The singular form is unknown.
