In the Kelvin timeline according to Khan Noonien Singh, in September 1992 Augment Dictator Asahf Ferris annexed Trinidad and Tabago into the South American Union. By 1996, Augment infighting led to Trinidad and Tabago becoming part of Alexander Newton's New American Empire. By the end of 1996, the Augment dictatorships were overthrown.
