Tripoli was a star system, located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, in or near the 24th century boundaries of Federation space.

The Tripoli system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including ninth planet Tripoli IX, origin of the technological menace the Tripolian hellblazer. (TNG comic: "... Where No One Has Gone Before!")
