The Tutopa system was a binary system in the Delta Quadrant and home of The Hub. (VOY novel: Violations)

History and specifics[]

In spite of the opportunities in the Tutopa system, being the Hub, some Delta Quadrant merchants choose not to visit it, as the Tutopans tend to "acquire" vessels through illicit means. While the Tutopans are not aggressive, most visitors who enter Tutopan space usually leave after they conducted business with one of the Houses or the Cartel.

The Hub was based in a moon-sized asteroid shell in orbit of the system's primary star. Gateway Pol at the perimeter managed starship access into the system's interior.

The secondary star was orbited by an asteroid belt, but lacked class M planets. It was home to adjunct representatives for the Hub. The USS Voyager in the year 2371, were brought within range of the system after being drawn off course by a plasma storm that stretched across several sectors, and taking weeks to get around. It was detected that there were numerous starships and orbital platforms in the system.

Voyager and her crew originally had no intent to visit the system, but were forced to head there tracking the crew of the Kapon who had stolen Voyager's core processor. (VOY novel: Violations)
