Luna southeast

Luna map showing Tycho Crater.

The Tycho Crater was an impact crater located on Luna.

History and specifics[]

Tycho Crater is 85 kilometers in diameter and located in the southern hemisphere at coordinates 43.31° S latitude and 11.36° W longitude.

The meteorite impact crater was located south of Mare Nubium and the settlement of Deslandres. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Starfleet Academy)

In 2155, Gannet Brooks said that the only difference between being in a storm on Mars and having a spacesuit rip in the Tycho crater was the speed with which a person died. (ENT novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

By the 24th century, the most populated area on Luna was Tycho Crater. Some two million people lived in its capital city, Tycho City, situated along the edge of the crater. (Decipher RPG module: Worlds, Last Unicorn RPG module: A Cadet's Guide to Sector 001 Earth)

Covered by a vast pressure dome, Lake Armstrong filled most of the crater. Genetic engineering and low gravity produced trees able to grow 20 meters tall at the shoreline. (Last Unicorn RPG module: A Cadet's Guide to Sector 001 Earth)
