In the Kelvin timeline, the USS Aegis (NX-1787) was a Federation starship active in the 23rd century, prototype of the Aegis-class cruiser in service to Starfleet in the 2250s decade. (ST video game: Bridge Crew, ST website: StarTrek.com: Star Trek: Bridge Crew)

History[]

The Aegis was launched in the year 2258, the first of its kind. (ST website: StarTrek.com: Star Trek: Bridge Crew)

Its design aesthetic mirrored that of the Constitution-class, rather than older vessels. The ship's commanding officer arrived when the Aegis was docked at Spacedock 1. The observation lounge held several golden models of Starfleet ship classes on display: Einstein-class, Concorde type, Aegis class, Constitution class, and a Neutronic Fuel Carrier. (ST video game: Bridge Crew)

Following the loss of Vulcan in the year 2258, the Aegis was dispatched by Starfleet Command to survey The Trench in search of a suitable new homeworld for the surviving Vulcan population. (ST video game: Bridge Crew)

When the Aegis orbited Deep Space Station K-7, the station commander requested a scan of the SS Ragusa freighter. After completing the scan, the Aegis received a distress call from the USS Kobayashi Maru, and travelled to the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone to assist. This mission turned out to be a performance test by Starfleet Command.

The next - and first genuine — mission was to investigate another distress call, this time from the Perseph Research Station in the Perseph system. The station and nearby vessels came under attack from Klingon D5-class battlecruisers, while Perseph itself underwent a stellar core eruption. The Aegis rescued numerous escape pods and crews before fleeing the system. (ST video game: Bridge Crew mission: "Prologue: Shakedown")

By 2259, the Confederacy of Surak — the surviving Vulcan polity — had settled on New Vulcan. (TOS video game: Star Trek)
