The USS Akira (NCC-63444-B) was a Federation starship, an Akira-class strike wing escort in Starfleet service in the 2400s and 2410s decades. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Service history[]

In 2409, during the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410, the Akira-B was part of the Federation fleet striking at the Klingon Defense Force from the Kahless Expanse, located within the Klingon Empire. (STO - Klingon Sector mission: "Punch Through the Federation Blockade")

From that year onwards, the Akira-B represented the Akira class in various starship tiers and configurations when reviewed at Starfleet shipyards. This indicated the vessel was refitted to a Tier-6 Fleet strike wing escort in 2410. Another vessel of that class and specification was the similarly named USS Akira-BC. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

The ship could also be deployed by admirals when they owned an Akira-class escort. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", admiralty system)
