Background[]
The Al Rashid may have been named for former Federation president Haroun al-Rashid. It was first seen in the pilot episode of "Star Trek New Voyages", "Come What May" and was then used several times by artist and VFX guru Doug Drexler in the Ships of the Line calendars as well as within other media.
