The USS Aledo (NA-01) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Texas-class automated spacecraft and prototype of its class, in Starfleet service in the 2380s decade. The Aledo operated without an onboard crew. (LD episode: "Trusted Sources")

As as a Texas-class vessel, the Aledo was named after the city of Aledo in Texas on Earth. (LD episode: "The Stars at Night")
Active service[]
In the 2380s, the Aledo was the first of three automated Federation starships operating under the aegis of Vice Admiral Les Buenamigo.
On stardate 58496.1 in the year 2381, the California-class support cruiser USS Cerritos came under attack from Breen interceptors after learning that the Breen had conquered Brekka. Admiral Buenamigo dispatched the Aledo to assist the Cerritos in battle. The Breen crippled the Cerritos and launched a boarding party. The Aledo arrived in time to fight off, and destroy, the Breen Chel Grett-class warships.
The Cerritos crew was unfamiliar with their rescuer's identity and initially confused by the lack of life signs. When Admiral Buenamigo hailed, he explained that this mission was the first sea trial of the Aledo, officially declassifying the Texas class to the Federation, represented by Federation News Network journalist Victoria Nuzé. Captain Carol Freeman felt dismayed that the exciting new starship took away from her Project Swing By initiative. (LD episode: "Trusted Sources")
Admiral Buenamigo activated the AI's of the USS Aledo, USS Dallas (NA-02) and USS Corpus Christi (NA-03) in 2381. Because the AI the ships were programmed with was insane, the Texas class went rogue on stardate 58499.2, killing Buenamigo and attacking Starfleet. The Aledo ransacked Douglas Station, crippled the USS Van Citters and joined forces with the Corpus Christi and Dallas. In spite of the troubled development and the loss of life, the Texas class was rescued from destruction. Starfleet commissioned the class after converting it into a crewed spacecraft.
