The USS Ambassador Hardin (NCC-8000) was a 24th century Federation starship, the prototype Ambassador Hardin-class transwarp heavy cruiser in Starfleet service in the 2360s decade.

Hardin was commissioned and launched on reference stardate 2/9912, entering Starfleet service as a transwarp heavy cruiser after being built at the shipyards of Argelius II. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)
- Although there was no person named "Ambassador Hardin" mentioned in any other Star Trek releases, the class is noted to be named for influential figures in Federation history.
- The mention of this vessel as a transwarp drive ship seems anomalous compared to later TNG-era productions which disregard the buildup of transwarp technology mentioned in TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: The Search for Spock and background material for TOS movie: The Voyage Home (as documented in ST reference: Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise). This could indicate the terminology was used prior to the TNG-era and then fell into disuse, or that the FASA RPG materials portray some sort of alternate history where the new technology was utilized to greater effect.
- No further information about this vessel or further definitive history exists as the stats provided for RPG play were designed to be used as either a player character's ship or that of an NPC (non-player character), and thus can be changed in each iteration of the game to suit the purposes of gameplay.
