In the Kelvin timeline, the USS Antares (NCC-2714) was a 23rd century Federation starship, a Loknar-class frigate in Starfleet service in the 2250s decade. It derived its name from the Antares star system. (TOS video game: Rivals)

History[]

In the year 2258, the Antares-type^[1] USS Antares was destroyed in the Battle of Vulcan by the time traveling Romulan Nero. (TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Star Trek)

By the time following the events surrounding the return of Khan Noonien Singh and the militarization conspiracy^[2] in 2259, the new Antares was on active space duty. (TOS video game: Rivals)
