The USS Apollo (NCC-10 or NCC-11) was a 22nd century Federation starship, a Columbia-class cruiser in service to the UESPA branch of Starfleet in the 2160s decade. Unlike existing refitted NX-class cruisers[2], the Apollo and its sister ship USS Soyuz formed the second pair built to Columbia-class specifications from scratch. The Phoenix was the tenth or eleventh ship of the NX series overall. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Live by the Code)

Apollo was constructed under the supervision of Admiral Alexis Osman of the Alpha Centauri Space Research Council, and Captain W. M. Jefferies of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers as part of a new wave of Columbia-class starships.
On 8 July 2165, Captain Marcus Williams conveyed Admiral Osman's progress report to UESPA chief of staff Admiral Jonathan Archer. The report indicated that Apollo and Soyuz would be ready to launch three months later. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Live by the Code)
