The USS Appalachia (NCC-52136) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Steamrunner-class heavy frigate in Starfleet service in the 2370s decade, one of a number of ships to be named USS Appalachia. Service history and disposition

In the year 2373, the Appalachia defended Earth against the Borg in the Battle of Sector 001. Erika Benteen commanded the vessel at this time. (TNG movie: First Contact, ST video game: Starship Creator)
By 2375, it was commanded by Captain Ahmed al-Rashid in the Dominion War. It was destroyed defending a communication relay in the Phicus system. (SCE - War Stories eBook: Book 2)
