The USS Aries (NCC-45167) was a Renaissance-class Federation starship in service in the late 24th century.

In the early 2360s, the Aries was assigned to a patrol circuit in the Vega-Omicron sector. Starfleet Command offered William Riker a commission as Aries' captain in 2365, but Riker turned down the position. At the time the first officer of the Aries was Commander Flaherty. (TNG episode: "The Icarus Factor")

Former USS Victory crewmember Emilita Mendez served aboard the Aries in the late 2360s. Under the effects of an exotic virus from Tarchannen III, Mendez stole a shuttlepod from the Aries to return to that planet. (TNG episode: "Identity Crisis")

The Aries later conducted a deep space exploration mission in Sector 21602 in 2367. (TNG episode: "Brothers", et al.)

In 2368, the Aries was rotated back to serve closer to Federation space, and participated in several border actions in the following years. The ship was assigned to Captain Picard's blockade of the Klingon-Romulan border during the Klingon Civil War. (TNG episode: "Redemption", Part II)

In 2370, the Aries, under the command of Captain George, visited Lilliput IX. Her next stop was DS9. (DS9 episode: "Whispers")

In 2379, the Aries was assigned to Star Fleet Battle Group Omega, which was to rendezvous with the USS Enterprise-E when it was attempting to escape from Romulan territory and the Reman warbird Scimitar. (TNG movie: Star Trek Nemesis)
