The USS Armstrong (NCC-57537) was a Federation Challenger-class starship in service to Starfleet in the late 24th century. It was named for Neil Armstrong. (ST reference: Star Trek Encyclopedia)
History
In early 2373, the Armstrong and the USS Drake were ambushed by Klingon forces in the brief Federation-Klingon War of 2372-2373, and were forced to dock at Deep Space 9 for repairs and the medical treatment of injured personnel by Doctor Julian Bashir. (DS9 episode: "Apocalypse Rising")
The Armstrong was still in service in 2379. Captain William T. Riker referred to the Challenger-class starship Armstrong when explaining that the USS Titan's shuttlecraft was named for Louis Armstrong, rather than Neil Armstrong. (TTN novel: Taking Wing)
