The USS Artemis was a 23rd century Federation starship, in Starfleet service by the 2260s decade. Its commanding officer in the 2270s was Captain Lawrence Styles (VAN novel: Reap the Whirlwind, TOS novel: Living Memory)

The Artemis was named for the historical figure Artemis.
It was one of several Archer-class starships active in the 2260s decade. (VAN novel: Reap the Whirlwind)
In the year 2279, the Artemis operated in the Sol star system. In October, the Artemis was requisitioned by Fleet Admiral Lance Cartwright of Starfleet Security for his vacuum flare task force. Captain Lawrence Styles participated in a Starfleet meeting to discuss measured to cope with the unfolding vacuum flare crisis. Styles proposed keeping the public in the dark and not taking any special measures. He was overruled by Admiral Cartwright. (TOS novel: Living Memory)
By the 2370s, the name USS Artemis was carried by a slightly larger explorer vessel. A version of Spock was one of the science officers joining that ship's crew during a mission inside the Nexus in 2371. (ST video game: Legends)
