The USS Artemis (NCC-1087) was a 23rd century Federation starship in Starfleet service by the 2250s decade, commanded by Captain Daniels. (ST reference: The Art of John Eaves), TOS novel: Vulcan's Glory)

In the ST reference: The Art of John Eaves, this USS Artemis is depicted as a 2250s-era Federation starship consisting of a saucer section, with warp nacelles suspended above and below on paired nacelle pylons.

Service history and disposition[]

The Artemis was named for the historical figure Artemis.

In the year 2253, the Artemis was under the command of Captain Daniels, with Lieutenant JG Spock as his third officer and science officer. That year, Spock left the Artemis, having been promoted to lieutenant and reassigned to the USS Enterprise as chief science officer and second officer. By the 2260s and 2270s, the name USS Artemis was carried by an Archer-class vessel. (VAN novel: Reap the Whirlwind; TOS novel: Living Memory)
