The USS Asama was a 24th century Federation starship, a Saber-class destroyer in Starfleet service around the year 2377. (ST video game: Armada II)

History and specifications[]

In the 2370s decade, the Asama was part of the Third Fleet.

On stardate 54637.3 (in the year 2377), the Asama participated in the Third Fleet in the Delta Quadrant as part of the Starfleet offensive against the Borg Collective. While travelling through System J-356, the fleet was ambushed by unknown vessels. At the conclusion of the battle the Asama survived but was derelict. A task force let by the USS Enterprise-E responded to the 3rd Fleet's distress call and recovered the Asama. (ST video game: Armada II mission: "The Cavalry")

On stardate 54694.9, the Asama was part of the heavy assault fleet attacking the Borg position in the Brazas star system. Starfleet captured a Borg Nexus, and the fleet protected modified Federation mining freighter EP-3 while it gathered information about the Borg invasion and returned it to the sector starbase. (ST video game: Armada II mission: "Data Retrieval")

No history or fate is established for this vessel outside of mission play in Armada II as its name would be randomly selected for a destroyer vessel by the game software.
