The USS Atlas (NCC-1900) was a 23rd century Federation starship, an Atlas-class dreadnought cruiser and prototype of its class in the 2270s and 2410s decades. (STO website: Reckoning: Undiscovered Lock Box and Lobi Ship Stats)

Service history[]

Starfleet designed the Atlas in the mid-23rd century as a stout dreadnought and built it for combat. It was one of the first Starfleet vessels with dedicated fighter bay.

In the 2410s, the Atlas was retrofitted with advanced technology and recommissioned with a tier 6 rating for the battlefields of the 25th century. A the time, Starfleet fitted the fighter bay with modern-day Type F fighter shuttles. Equipped with phaser beam arrays and photon torpedo launchers, these fighter shuttles could aid the USS Atlas in combat.

The Atlas re-entered service during the conflict between the Khitomer Alliance and the Tzenkethi Coalition in 2410, brought on by the Tzenkethi Crusade against worlds of the Alpha Quadrant. (STO website: Reckoning: Undiscovered Lock Box and Lobi Ship Stats)

From that year onward, the Atlas represented its class in the Starfleet Shipyards Operations interface. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

The 25th century Concorde-class battlecruiser.

As part of Operation Delta Rising, Starfleet commissioned a trio of command battlecruiser classes, the Concorde-, Presidio- and the Geneva-class battlecruisers. Their configuration of large saucer section, bulky engineering hull with tapering rear, and pairs of closely connected warp nacelles mirrored the original Atlas design. (STO - Delta Rising mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Khitomer Alliance flag officer in, or aligned with, Starfleet, deployed the Atlas for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", admiralty system)
