The USS Avenger (NCC-1980) was a Federation starship in service to Starfleet in the mid-23rd century.

Service history and disposition[]

In 2265, Starfleet dispatched the USS Avenger to make first contact with the natives of Berengaria VI. Personnel in the landing party included Security Ensign Marla McGivers, who salvaged the mission and helped formal relations be established between the natives and the Federation.
