The USS Bengal was a fictional 20th century submarine in service to the United States Navy. It was featured in the 2370s holonovel Tigers of the Deep.

Fictional service history and disposition[]

By the 1950s decade, Bengal had seen action during World War II and had been decommissioned.

In the 1950s, the mothballed vessel was lent out to retired naval freelancers for a mission to investigate ship disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle. The vessel was returned to an active condition by Frenchy, Carmen Fuller, and retired WWII sailors. She was refitted with prototype sonar gear managed by sonar expert Wendy Staton and a new engine. The sub launched under the command of Dick Fuller.

While on the assignment, Bengal battled the Russian pirate sub Yakutsk and docked at the intact, sunken city of Atlantis. (Last Unicorn RPG - Holodeck Adventures module: Tigers of the Deep)

Fictional crew manifest[]

History[]

In 2371, Lieutenant Landers and Ensigns Gro'ozal and Hasui roleplayed Bengal personnel when crewmates ran the holographic program on a starship holodeck. (Last Unicorn RPG - Holodeck Adventures module: Tigers of the Deep)
