The USS Boston was a Federation Akula-class frigate starship in service to Starfleet during the late 23rd century.
The Boston was placed under the command of Tim Abel, when it pulled away an experimental weapon, the Subspace Equaliscopic System, whose usage was to jam subspace communications in a two parsec radius, from its position in orbit over the Lodash system, where it was undertaking a test.
