The USS Buran (NCC-57580) was a 25th century Federation starship, a tier 6-rated Challenger-class temporal destroyer in Starfleet service in the 2410s decade. (STO - Both Worlds mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Service history[]

The Challenger-class destroyer[1] named USS Buran, with the NCC registry number NCC-57580, had fought valiantly against the primary universe Borg Collective in the Battle of Wolf 359 in the year 2367. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Battle of Wolf 359")
In the 2410s, the Buran represented the Challenger class on the shipyards interfaces operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Khitomer Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - The Iconian War missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Flag officers of the Alliance could deploy the Buran alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
In 2411, Starfleet commissioned the Atlantis-class temporal destroyer prototype USS Atlantis, a modern iteration of the 24th century Challenger-class destroyer. The Buran was built to the same tier 6 temporal destroyer specifications while retaining the classic 24th century Challenger-class appearance. (STO - Both Worlds mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
