The USS Capella (NCC-1886) was a 23rd century starship, a Miranda-class cruiser[1], Reliant-subclass variant in Starfleet service in the 2280s decade. (SOTL calendar: Ships of the Line 2022)
Service history and disposition[]

In the late 23rd century, the Capella followed Starfleet's white, sweeping style of starships. Like the original configuration of the USS Reliant (NCC-1864), the warp nacelles were raised above the extended saucer section, and a rollbar with additional torpedo launchers hung below. The Capella was a contemporary of the USS Constitution (NCC-1700). (SOTL calendar: Ships of the Line 2022)
By the 2280s, the Constitution had been refit from its previous Constitution-class light cruiser modification into the specifications of a heavy cruiser of the Enterprise-subclass. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command)

Legacy[]
By the 24th century, the ship name had passed on to the Federation repair ship USS Capella, which operated as a fleet support vessel in the 2370s. (ST video game: Armada II)
