The USS Ceres (NCC-2513) was a Constellation-class exploratory cruiser in service to Starfleet in the 24th century. The Ceres was launched on reference stardate 2/6709 (late 2320s decade). (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)
Service history and disposition[]
In the year 2355, the Ceres was the closest vessel to the Maxia Zeta star system when a distress signal was sent about by the survivors of the USS Stargazer. After recovering them and offering medical treatment to the worst injured, the Ceres transported them to Starbase 32. (TNG novel: The Buried Age)
By the 2370s decade, this ship was no longer in service, having been succeeded in name by the scoutship USS Ceres. (DS9 novel: The Tempest)
