USS Cestus

The USS Cestus was a Federation starship, a Cestus-class frigate in Starfleet service in the 26th and 25th century centuries. Like other vessels of its class, it was an auxiliary vessel deployed from the hangars of Universe-class temporal heavy dreadnought cruisers. The Cestus was assigned to the USS Enterprise-J. History[]

In the 26th century, the three Federation defense organisations Starfleet, Klingon Defense Force and Romulan Republic Navy produced one frigate class for each faction. Besides the USS Cestus, these were the Craeul-class RRW Craeul and the baSro'-class IKS baSro'. Their capabilities and design were based on the 24th century USS Altair design, a prototype fitted with a temporal warp core. These classes entered service alongside their motherships in the 26th century, at some point before the Battle of Procyon V. During the Temporal Cold War, these frigates became available to the Alpha Quadrant Alliance in 2409. (STO - Reckoning mission: "26 Century Dreadnoughts Stats!")
